About

Connections Review is an online journal dedicated to human-created writing that explores the relationships among philosophy, technology, culture, and policy. Through essays and notes, it examines connections, tensions, and emerging questions in order to clarify the complexities of contemporary life.

The journal was founded in response to a need for intellectually rigorous writing that bridges academic scholarship and public discourse. Many questions arising from developments in technology, policy, and philosophy benefit from careful analysis and engagement with scholarly research while remaining accessible to a broader readership. Connections Review provides a venue for such work, bringing academic standards of inquiry into conversation with contemporary concerns.

The journal publishes two principal forms of scholarly writing: Essays and Notes.

Essays are substantial scholarly contributions that advance original arguments, interpretations, or lines of inquiry. All Essay submissions undergo anonymous peer review and are evaluated for originality, quality of scholarship, clarity of argument, methodological and analytical rigor, and contribution to ongoing intellectual debates. Accepted Essays are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs), ensuring persistent citation, discoverability, and long-term accessibility within the scholarly record.

Notes are shorter pieces that offer focused reflections, critical interventions, conceptual analyses, responses to current developments, or exploratory engagements with emerging questions. Notes undergo editorial review and, where necessary, revision in consultation with the editorial team. Although shorter and less formal than Essays, Notes are expected to meet the journal's standards for intellectual rigor, clarity, and engagement with relevant scholarship.

All submissions are initially reviewed by the editors to determine their suitability for publication. Authors may be invited to revise and resubmit their work through one or more rounds of editorial feedback.

Connections Review is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics and research integrity. The journal's editorial practices are informed by the principles and guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), including standards concerning originality, plagiarism, conflicts of interest, editorial independence, confidentiality, transparency, corrections, retractions, and the ethical conduct of peer review. Editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of scholarly merit and the journal's editorial standards.

By fostering dialogue across disciplinary boundaries, Connections Review seeks to provide a forum for serious engagement with the philosophical, technological, and policy questions that shape contemporary life.
